Monday was a great day to shoot at the Southern Grand with temperatures in the 80’s and mostly sunny skies. Ian Lawrence was the Event 3 Preliminary Handicap Champion with a 98. 7 shooters had 99’s in the Event 4 Preliminary Doubles. The winner of the doubles will be decided in the carry over tomorrow morning. Tuesday’s schedule is the Event 5 Preliminary Doubles and the Event 6 Z Nannini Singles. Good luck to all the shooters.
The first day of the Southern Grand is in the books. 11 shooters started the week off with perfect scores in the singles. In the second event, Junior Weston Anderson of OK broke a 99 from the 27-yard line. The trophy case is full and vendor row is filling up. It is going to be a great week for shooting in sunny Florida.
Friday was the final day of the Bill Jacobsen Memorial Shoot. The Handicap I Championship Champion is Glen Lonneman after 5 rounds of shoot off against Pamela Wade. Both shooters had impressive scores of 97. Pam dropped back to the Lady II Champion. The Handicap II Champion was David Swigart with a perfect score of 100 from the 27 yard line. It was David’s 2nd 100 from the back fence. Classification, squadding, and cashiering will be open tomorrow in the club house for the 46th Southern Satellite Grand American. Thursday proved to be a difficult day for shooting at the Bill Jacobsen Memorial Shoot at the Silver Dollar. Shooters dealt with winds in the doubles championship. Urban Womer (NY) and Nickolas Gibbs both had 98’s. Urban won the flip for Champion. The singles championship had cloudy skies, a 30 minute delay for lightning, pouring rain , and a rainbow to end the day. Jerry Mathias and Tank Lunsford shot perfect 200’s. It was Jerry’s first 200 in singles. Jerry was named the Singles Champion. Tomorrow’s events include two handicap events.

Hillsdale College Halter Center to Host Open House for New Nimrod Complex
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College is hosting an open house for the Nimrod Complex — its new indoor/outdoor archery, air gun, and rifle and pistol range — located at the Halter Shooting Sports Center.
The new facility includes:
60 10-meter indoor precision lanes
20 25-meter indoor archery lanes
24 50-meter indoor/outdoor smallbore lanes
12 50-foot indoor/outdoor covered retractable centerfire pistol lanes
A 24-person classroom for CPL and college courses
Seating for 300 in the main room
Dedicated team storage space for precision and archery
A mezzanine viewing area overlooking the ranges
The open house will feature raffles and giveaways, as well as the opportunity to learn about memberships, visit the Liberty & Co. Pro Shop, and shoot on the archery, centerfire, and air rifle ranges.

About the John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center
The Halter Center is a state-of-the-art shooting facility located five miles from the Hillsdale College campus. The Center boasts 125 range acres, four international skeet fields, a 25-station sporting clays course, eight American trap fields, five international bunkers, an action shooting range, an enclosed and climate-controlled five-stand range, an international archery range, and 62,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor rifle and pistol complex. The Center is also home to the AcuSport Lodge and Grille and six cottages to accommodate overnight lodging.
